Daily Routine

Our daily routine

Children do best with a steady rhythm. Here is how a typical day flows. Times shift a little by age group, and babies follow their own schedule.

Our daily rhythm

  1. Doors open

Early drop-off and quiet play while friends arrive.

  2. Breakfast

A fresh, nutritious breakfast, included in your fees.

  3. Circle time and learning centres

Songs, stories, then time at the art, building and pretend-play centres.

  4. Outdoor play

Fresh air in our fenced play yard, weather permitting.

  5. Lunch

A fresh, balanced lunch, also included.

  6. Rest time

Naps for the little ones, quiet activities for older children.

  7. Play, projects and kindergarten pickup

More play and group activities as kindergarten children come back from school.

  8. Extended Pickup

Calm evening play until families arrive.

Learning centres in our rooms

Each part of the room has a purpose. Children move between them through the day, so they learn by playing.

Arts and crafts

Our “messy place” for painting, drawing, gluing and making things.

Manipulatives

Puzzles, beads and building pieces that build hand-eye coordination.

Shapes, colours and numbers

Wall charts, an abacus and sorting toys that make early math part of play.

Blocks and building

Stacking, balancing and building together, with plenty of problem solving.

Pretend play

Dollhouses, figures and animals for imagination and taking turns.

How I feel today

A feelings chart that helps children name their emotions and talk about them.
